Are you a Google AdSense publisher? Then you should know that an accidental click on your own ads could mean the difference between life or death of your AdSense account. Google has been known to shutdown accounts by just a few accidental clicks.
How does it work?
The principles are simple:
1. hiding the ads in the browser using a list of URLs that Google AdSense deals with
or
2. simply blocking you from sending any information to Google's ads scripts when clicking on your ads. This second principle requires your AdSense publisher ID in order to decide if an ad is linked with your account. You don't have to worry about any of the URLs I've wrote about, there is a simple way to do that.
So, how do I do it?
There are many programs, browser add-ons and scripts that, once installed, do the job for you and many of them are also free.
At this moment I'm testing a little program that displays an "error" instead of the actual ad once the "Hide Adsense" option is selected. You can select or deselect this option at any time, but you have to restart your browser each time you do that. The main disadvantage is that, when the "Hide Adsense" option is selected, you cannot see any Google ads instead of hiding only your own ads.
I think there are other much more sophisticated programs out there and hopefully free, so, I'm not going to pay for this one. I'm going to use the Trial Version as long as I can until I find some other good and also free program for this simple job. For this one, you can download the Trial Version from here:
