The Birth Of A Blog (#1)

The motivation:

I'll start my first article with a story: I was a web designer / web developer working on project for very little money. I've been designing all kinds of uninteresting websites for all kinds of clients. Most of you surely don't even want to know how a five hundred lines of code file looks like...

One day, a friend of mine asked me a simple question: why am I designing such websites for others, getting little money, instead of creating a great website for myself that, in time, could bring me much more than its price. He was saying something about a passive income, but I wasn't convinced because I didn't trust the online advertising companies and, also, the number of unique visitors involved for a decent income was, in my mind, impossible to reach.

I've kept doing that until the day my friend called asking me to design a nice and clean layout for his new website, and guess what: my friend was going to pay me for doing that. I laughed: "Hey, you are never going to get that money back from that website..." and I was very surprised to hear his answer: "I've received my first check from Google yesterday... that's the money I'm spending right now".

The idea:

This time, I've decided to trust my friend about the importance of quality content and, after more than two years of reading about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Google AdSense, I'm ready to drop some of my knowledge on a blog, and, also, on a forum called Web Design and Internet Marketing Forum, at www.forum.zeromedia.ro.

In order to have rich and complete articles, I will try to support them with pictures, movies or anything that I'll find useful for the debated article idea. I will start with a Joel Comm movie related to this topic, a great Internet entrepreneur who has been online for 20 years. I'm sure there will be more like this. Very interesting serie.
